Kindness is Cool at Woodmont Elementary School!

Woodmont Elementary School, in Pine Brook, New Jersey, showed us how cool it is to be kind, when we presented our Hero Assembly to their students and staff. The students shouted out, “It’s cool to be kind!” during our show. They participated in our role plays with lots of laughs and cheers. They were enchanted with our Cape Kid videos, and immediately started using the Hero Strategies that were taught.

As a school-wide initiative, the students and staff are completing a five-week Kindness Challenge, where they are hoping to track 300 Random Acts of Kindness, in that time frame. We were happy to motivate and encourage all students to participate in this challenge. As well, we brainstormed many ways that individual students can perform Random Acts of Kindness to add to their Kindness Challenge Board.

PTO members and teachers thanked us for visiting, sharing that our program was “Amazing,” and “Just what we needed!”

The Heroes of Milfordbrook Elementary

We had the honor of visiting Milfordbrook Elementary School, in Manalapan, New Jersey, where the students and staff greeted us with warm smiles and kindness. Every staff member, student, and PTO member whom we met, went out of their way to make us feel welcomed in their school.

Our assembly was a huge hit with everyone! The students and staff were engrossed in our video segments, where they watched our Cape Kids demonstrating how to use the kindness strategies we taught them, in real life scenarios.

The excitement in the room was contagious, as students chanted, “Heroes always help!!” Teachers and students participated in our role plays, as they proudly displayed their very own Super Hero power- one we would love to come teach your student body through our assembly program.

Several teachers and PTO representatives reached out to us to compliment our assembly, stating that it was, “An excellent program!”

Thank you, Milfordbrook School for allowing us to spend the morning with you and teaching you our HERO strategies. We are confident you will continue to spread kindness throughout your school, and in your daily lives.

McGinn School is BETTER THAN THAT™

Today we visited the McGinn School, in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, where we presented two HERO assembly programs to their K-2 grade and 3-4th grade students.

The faculty and students of McGinn were so engrossed in our Hero videos that you could hear a pin drop in the room. They immediately began using the super hero strategies we taught during our program. At the end of our assembly, all stood up, in their best super hero pose, and cheered, “I will be a hero!”

After our first show, one second grader stepped out of his class line with an important message for his principal. He stopped and said, “Thank you SO much for bringing this assembly to our school.” The principal told us she has never had a student go out of his way to thank her for such a wonderful assembly. We are so honored that you loved our program!

As we approach the end of the Week of Respect, we remind you that you can be a HERO to someone every day, not just during one week in October. We encourage you to stand up for others, to choose to do the right thing, and to be BETTER THAN THAT™ – better than poor choices, better than others who are not being heroic, and better than what’s not right.
