Sycamore Drive is Filled with Heroes!

IMG_8679It was a treat for us to visit Sycamore Drive Early Childhood Learning Center, in Hazlet, New Jersey, today. This is the fourth consecutive year that we have been invited to present our Hero Assembly to their staff and students. It was absolutely delightful to see such friendly and familiar faces at Sycamore Drive!
The student body, which was made up of ten Kindergarten classes, welcomed us with bright smiles and lots of excitement. A large Wear The Cape bulletin board was created in the main hallway by Early Literacy Instructor, Ms. Gina Dorozynski, who went out of her way to show us kindness!
IMG_8675.JPGEvery students was enamored with the video sections of our program. Students began using the Hero strategies we taught even before the assembly was finished. The high energy, exhilaration, and sheer joy that filled the All Purpose Room at Sycamore Drive this morning, was amazing.
We were thrilled to visit this wonderful school. We are humbled and grateful for all of the terrific feedback we received from all of the teachers and students as we were leaving. They stated that our show was “wonderful!” “…sent such a great message!” and is “absolutely terrific!”
Thank you Sycamore Drive for allowing us the opportunity to visit you again this year. Remember, Heroes… an invisible cape, is still a powerful cape! WEAR THE CAPE proudly!

The Heroes of Milfordbrook Elementary

Milfordbrook ElementaryWe had the honor of visiting Milfordbrook Elementary School, in Manalapan, New Jersey, where the students and staff greeted us with warm smiles and kindness. Every staff member, student, and PTO member whom we met, went out of their way to make us feel welcomed in their school.

Our assembly was a huge hit with everyone! The students and staff were engrossed in our video segments, where they watched our Cape Kids demonstrating how to use the kindness strategies we taught them, in real life scenarios.

The excitement in the room was contagious, as students chanted, “Heroes always help!!” Teachers and students participated in our role plays, as they proudly displayed their very own Super Hero power- one we would love to come teach your student body through our assembly program.Milfordbrook Elementary 3

Several teachers and PTO representatives reached out to us to compliment our assembly, stating that it was, “An excellent program!”

Thank you, Milfordbrook School for allowing us to spend the morning with you and teaching you our HERO strategies. We are confident you will continue to spread kindness throughout your school, and in your daily lives.

McGinn School is BETTER THAN THAT™

McGinn SchoolToday we visited the McGinn School, in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, where we presented two HERO assembly programs to their K-2 grade and 3-4th grade students.

The faculty and students of McGinn were so engrossed in our Hero videos that you could hear a pin drop in the room. They immediately began using the super hero strategies we taught during our program. At the end of our assembly, all stood up, in their best super hero pose, and cheered, “I will be a hero!”

After our first show, one second grader stepped out of his class line with an important message for his principal. He stopped and said, “Thank you SO much for bringing this assembly to our school.” The principal told us she has never had a student go out of his way to thank her for such a wonderful assembly. We are so honored that you loved our program!

McGinn SchoolAs we approach the end of the Week of Respect, we remind you that you can be a HERO to someone every day, not just during one week in October. We encourage you to stand up for others, to choose to do the right thing, and to be BETTER THAN THAT™ – better than poor choices, better than others who are not being heroic, and better than what’s not right.

BE A HERO! We believe in you and are counting on you to stand up and choose kindness!
